As Ireland's leading supplier of rural energy solutions, Calor understands the work carried out each day by unsung heroes in local communities across the island of Ireland. With this in mind, Calor launched the search last year for the 'Calor Communty Champion'. The all-island initiative is now entering its second year, Calor is looking for your help in the search for the 'Calor Community Champion 2013'.
We all know them, they're the ones that go above and beyond the call, that get things done, and work tirelessly each day to improve the lives of the people around them. The competition is open for entries from August 8th for members of the public to 'nominate their local candidate', with the closing date for entries on September 30th. The final 32 local champions will be chosen and presented on the competition page on October 4th, with voting open to the public until November 1st. Our panel of judges will chose from the top four as voted by the public and two 'wildcard' entries, with the inaugural Calor Community Champion announced on November 6th.
The inaugural winner will receive €1,500 and a bursary of €7,500 to their chosen local charity or organisation. The two runners-up will each receive €500. There is even €500 for the person or organisation that nominated them.
